Pope County Humane Society: Disaster Response and Recovery Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We applied to this grant after we lost a fridge full of vaccines for our animals. With the funds of this grant, we were able to replace the vaccines and repair the outlet the fridge was connected to. The replacement vaccines help 39 pets in our care, and repairing the outlet will help us continue to help pets and store our refrigerated vaccines and medications.
How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
We took in Hank (first photo) with five other cats from a hoarding situation. She and two of her sisters were pregnant. Sadly, her single baby was stillborn, but she went on the help her sister raise her two babies as well as five orphaned kittens and did a great job raising them. Hank is still waiting for someone to adopt her. Meet Hank here.
Bougie (second photo) was a stray cat wandering around a local neighborhood. No one came forward to claim him when we posted him as found. One of our staff members fell in love with him and adopted him.
Teddy (third photo) came in as a stray and was never claimed. He stayed with us for a while, but eventually found his forever home with more furry friends, including two beagle “brothers” and some feline “siblings.” His mom is so good with his training.
