How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

With this grant we have been able to lower adoption fees on our cats over 1 year of age. This increased adoptions of cats who have been with us for a while. One of our cats who had been with us for over two years found a home.

The grant also attracted more potential adopters to The Kitty Cottage Sanctuary. We are a small rescue. Being able to offer a lower adoption fees drew attention to us.

Leonardo DiCatprio (first photo) is a 5-year-old cat who had spent almost half his life living at The Kitty Cottage Sanctuary. Before coming to us, he was living outside, fending for himself. Leonardo was adopted by a lovely young lady with lots of cat experience.

Bow (second photo) is a 6-year-old cat who came to us after her previous owner passed away and family members didn’t want her. We were notified that they were considering euthanasia.

Bow spent most of her life as a farm cat. When she came to us, she was happy to be inside and cared for. With this grant, a single mother and her young daughter were able to give her a loving home.
