Max was found severely injured with a huge, gaping wound to the inside of his back leg.

When x-rays were done, it was discovered he had been shot more than 30 times with a BB gun and the pellets were still lodged throughout his body. He had fractures of the hips, subluxation, and lacerations all over his body. Max also suffered from extensive nerve damage and was nearly unable to walk.

Thanks to this grant, we are able to move forward with the necessary medical procedures he needed to be able to return to a normal life.

Despite the horrific treatment he has suffered, he continues to be one of the sweetest dogs. He likes cats, kids, and other dogs.

Max has a long road of recovery ahead of him. He needs a family to travel that road with. Max will remain with the rescue until he is healthy and released from veterinary care. Applications are being accepted for this incredible dog and he can’t wait to meet the family that will love him forever. His adoption fee will cover transportation to the perfect home for him when he is healthy.

You can meet Max here.
