Nebraska Humane Society: KONG Toys Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The KONGs were used in daily enrichment for dogs at the Nebraska Humane Society (NHS). Enrichment is critical in keeping dogs active and mentally engaged, effectively reducing stress. Anything NHS can do to lower stress levels and help dogs show better to potential adopters is a positive. NHS is very grateful for the gift of KONGs; they are appreciated by the doggos, volunteers, and staff. Thank you!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Reno (first photo) is a 2-year-old Labrador mix who wants to be busy! He loves his KONG treats and they help him expend energy while he waits for his person to find him.

Reno is still available for adoption at the Nebraska Humane Society. You can meet him here.
