Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter: Emergency Medical Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This wonderful grant from the Petfinder foundation helped the FMAS replenish the medical fund that was used to pay for Sushi's surgery and treatment.

This fund is used to pay for medical treatment of the animals that are in the care and custody of the shelter. By replenishing the fund, we can continue to provide medical services for current and future animals in our shelter. Every dollar that is recouped through your grant will mean that more animals in our care will receive treatment.

FMAS is a "no-kill" shelter, which means that each year we spend tens of thousands of medical dollars on outside services, and many hours by our internal medical team, to treat our guests so that we can get them adopted. Sushi has been adopted and is in his forever home!!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sushi is a handsome three-legged black kitty who was adopted in September and is in his forever home!

This grant helped to offset the costs for Sushi’s amputation.

Sushi celebrated his second birthday this past month with his new family. He is, happily, fully recovered in his new home.
