Just Keep Rescuing Canines and Cats: KONG Toys Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant has significantly supported our organization, which is entirely volunteer-run and foster-based. Because our foster team members all have full-time jobs, managing another animal can sometimes be a challenge. To help ease this burden and ensure the well-being of our animals, we provide enrichment tools such as Kongs filled with peanut butter or yogurt and then frozen. These treats offer valuable mental stimulation while fosters are at work and the animals are safely crated or in a designated room.

This grant has made a meaningful difference for Tina, one of our rescue dogs who struggles with crate anxiety. In the past, Tina would panic in the crate, using her teeth or paws to try to escape, sometimes injuring herself in the process. Thanks to this support, we’ve been able to provide her with enrichment tools like frozen Kongs filled with peanut butter or yogurt.
Now, when we place a Kong in her crate, she stays engaged and is able to calm herself, making crate time a much safer and more positive experience for her.
