Sarama Animal Rescue: Wag Wine Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
As of this writing, Sarama has 25 adoptable cats and kittens in our care. The Wag Wine grant was crucial in helping us cover our ongoing food and litter expenses for these cats, especially as a large portion of the rest of our budget is covering the high number of emergency medical cases we experienced this fall. The grant provided our staff and volunteers peace of mind in knowing that these basic expenses would be covered to keep our cats well-fed and cared for.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
One of the cats helped by this grant is Herbie, an 8-year-old tabby who had a rough start in life. Herbie was rescued after he was found struggling to survive on the street in Philadelphia. He was adopted not too long after and had been happy, until his human died and Herbie was left alone in the house.
He came back to our rescue and has been in foster care ever since. Herbie is smart, silly, playful, and charming. He loves toys, watching birds out the window, and finding comfy beds for a cat nap. Herbie loves people but is not a huge fan of other animals. He is awaiting an adoption where he can be the only animal in the home.
