Pet Network Humane Society: Cat Enrichment Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant helped to supplement and provide new items to our already established cat enrichment program. We were able to purchase scents, toys, egg cartons, streamers, lava lamps, disco balls, etc., to help to continue to lower fear, anxiety, and stress in our cat population. Additionally, we were able to add battery-operated fish tanks to our cat rooms and isolation rooms for visual stimulation.
Being able to provide enrichment for our kittens in medical isolation is essential, as they don’t get as much human interaction when they are recovering. Some of the supplies that we were able to purchase can be sanitized and are designated specifically for isolation cats.
How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
We had a litter of 5-month-old kittens who had ringworm and needed to be isolated. During their 11 days in isolation, we were able to provide multiple types of enrichment each day for them to lower their stress. This included playing the visual fish tank and providing new toys, streamers, food in cat puzzle-feeders, and more. All five kittens were adopted shortly after their isolation period!
