All About Cats Rescue: KONG Toys Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
All About Cats rescued and adopted 826 cats and kittens last year. We provide multiple toys for our caged small kittens and our free-roaming cats and kittens. The toys keep them active, friendly, and therefore more easily adoptable. Toys are washed and/or disinfected on a daily basis for health and cleanliness reasons.
We go through quite a number of toys every year. This grant provided us with many toys for the cats' amusement and also saved the shelter money we could then use towards medicine and veterinary care. This grant provided entertainment for our cats and kittens and saved us money too. A win-win situation -- thank you!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Bunny (first photo) is what we call a dump-and-run. She was left outside our shelter in a carrier in October 2024. She has a sweet and sassy personality and loves people. Unfortunately, she doesn’t love other cats and lives by herself in our office.
To keep her amused, she has lots of toys, scratching posts and beds to choose from. New toys are kept in the office and Bunny helps herself to them on a regular basis. Bunny is still waiting for her forever home. Meet Bunny here.
Cloudy (second photo) is a dumped house cat rescued by a former volunteer. He was very nervous when he first came to the shelter, like many adult cats. Playing with him with toys and giving him lots of love quickly calmed him down. He’s adjusted well to free-roaming shelter life and is happily going to his forever home this weekend.
Ellie, Emmett, and Eve (third photo) were born indoors and fostered until they were old enough to come to the shelter. As with all kittens, they required lots of toys while being fostered and even more so once they entered the shelter. They were adopted together: BFFs forever.
