How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The KONG grant helped us provide much-needed enrichment for our shelter pups! The typical day in the life of our shelter animals includes getting to play outside. However, on really hot days and rainy or snowy days, our dogs remain inside. The KONG grant helped keep our dogs busy during those days and also kept our high-stress dogs busy! We are so thankful for this grant from the Petfinder Foundation!

Inigo (first and second photos) was in a dog altercation that left his ankle broken in two spots. While he recovered, he couldn’t go outside. Inigo struggled with the confinement and was resorting to tearing up his brace.

With the help of peanut butter-filled KONGs, Inigo was content and could focus that energy into a positive behavior.
