Chatham Kent Animal Rescue: Purina Canada Happy Paws & Hearts Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
With this grant, our rescue was able to have several newly surrendered kittens diagnosed and treated for eye and respiratory illnesses. We were able to purchase flea/tick medications for many of our dogs and cats. With kitten season upon us, we were able to have many started on the yearly vaccines and are now up-to-date on all.
Pebbles, one of our cats, had to be treated for an eye infection. Tinkerbelle the shih tzu had ongoing skin issues that have now been diagnosed and are being treated. Fluffy, an older shih tzu, has been diagnosed with a heart condition and now is on medication. And Seven, a young Pomeranian who was surrendered, was able to have all his needs taken care of, making him adoptable. Snoopy is a bichon who had lost his owner and came into our foster program. This grant allowed him to have all his needs taken care of and he is now posted on our site for adoption.
How many pets did this grant help?
This grant was able to help 10-15 animals immediately and, because we were able to vet them, it gives us the availability to bring in more animals who need help
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Snoopy is a young Bichon who had lost his owner and was surrendered to the rescue. When coming into our rescue, he was in need of all puppy vaccines and proper testing before being adoptable. This grant allowed us to bring Snoopy up-to-date with all vaccines and have him tested and put on heartworm preventative.
