We’re incredibly grateful to the Petfinder Foundation for awarding us a grant that allowed us to build much-needed stairs at our facility!
Many of our rescues have never encountered stairs before — and something so simple can be scary when it’s brand new. These stairs help us gently introduce them to what life in a home might be like, giving them the confidence they need to thrive with their future families.
Thank you, Petfinder Foundation, for helping us take one more step — literally and figuratively — toward giving every dog the second chance they deserve. And thank you to our wonderful volunteers who designed and built it for us.

Several dogs have already begun using the steps. Of particular interest are the two pups depicted in the photo. They are siblings, Cashew and Kukui. Both came to us as puppies, very shy and unsure of their surroundings. The stairs frightened them tremendously. But as you can see from the photo, they know run up and down the stairs with ease. This can only help make them more adoptable to families whose homes have stairs.
