Paws Above Rescue: Emergency Medical Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Petfinder Foundation's Emergency Medical Grant helped Paws Above Rescue cover the cost of surgically removing a cherry eye from one of our rescue dogs. The grant helped offset the $1,700+ surgery, which included the cherry-eye procedure, anesthesia, fluids, and pain management.

Mookie came to Paws Above Rescue as an owner-surrender. The Boston terrier/French bulldog mix had cherry eye. We needed to have the cherry eye surgically removed to ensure Mookie didn’t develop any further eye complications, but also to make sure it wasn’t an obstacle to being adopted.
Mookie recovered well from the operation. We are pleased to announce that he has since been adopted!
