Olive Branch Animal Rescue and Refuge, Inc.: Cat Enrichment Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We received a Cat Enrichment Grant to purchase Kuranda cat trees for the our cats and kittens. We were able to purchase several towers of various heights. Some we used on our outdoor communal cat area for our adult cat population and the others were used in our communal kitten area.
The adult and senior cats love to use the towers to bask in the sunshine and watch the world go by. The kittens have a wonderful place to practice climbing, playing, and napping. The towers encourage playfulness by giving everyone a safe place to interact while providing private areas for stillness.
Our staff, volunteers, and visitors love the easy access the various towers provide for interaction with the cats. We also are very happy with the ease of cleaning and sanitizing of the Kuranda towers, which helps us maintain the standards of hygiene we strive for at our rescue.

In addition to the other ongoing rescues in which we are involved, we have been working on a rescue case of 38 kittens who were in desperate need of homes. The purchase of the Kuranda towers finished our kitten area for adopter interaction and enabled us to take beautiful photographs of the kitties to use on their profile pages to generate adopter interest.
We have adopted 12 of the 15 kittens we have taken in from this rescue thus far, enabling us to take in more and hopefully soon have room for the remaining kittens.
Cash (first photo) and Sully (photos 2-4), listed below, are two of the three kitten available for adoption from the original set of our 15-kitten intake.
