New Collar Collective: Dog Enrichment Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Dog Enrichment grant allowed New Collar Collective to purchase a wide variety of enrichment toys to support the animals in our care. New Collar Collective is a 100% volunteer-run foster-based animal rescue, and we rely almost entirely on the generosity of our community and supporters to help over the financial costs related to caring for our foster animals. The opportunity for a grant means that we can provide additional resources to our fosters and volunteers to engage with the dogs and create more enriched and fulfilling home environments for them. Without the grant, many dogs in our care would go without enrichment toys specifically selected to meet their needs.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
The grant allowed us to buy a wide variety of toys, including puzzles, tug and throw toys, lick mats, and Kongs. Two specific animals in our care who benefited from his grant were Autumn and Foxy.
Autumn (first and second photos), a medium-energy adult husky mix, received a snuffle mat, which provided additional enrichment opportunities for her to explore and challenged her mind. She remains up for adoption: You can meet Autumn here.
Foxy (photos 3 and 4) is a young, high-energy shepherd mix who benefited greatly from tug and throw toys. She and her foster volunteer played extensively and used playtime as an opportunity for training as well. She has since been adopted.
We’re grateful to be able to improve their lives with these simple items.
