New Collar Collective: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Kia Pet Adoption Grant allowed us to reduce adoption fees for some of the dogs in New Collar Collective's care that would require additional investment from adopters due to medical and/or behavioral needs. The animals who benefitted were some of the longest residents in care at New Collar Collective, and without being able to offset the adoption costs, it could have taken much longer for them to get adopted, knowing they would be an expensive long-term investment for their adopters.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Sandford was a very human-friendly terrier mix with a bite record against other dogs. He had been in care with New Collar Collective for nearly two years, and had rotated through several foster homes, before being adopted.
In his time with New Collar Collective, the rescue invested significant resources into his regular care and standard vetting needs, as well as professional training support, and had already lowered his adoption fees in the hopes of attracting the right family, without success.
However, once we were able to further reduce his fees with the Kia Adoption Grant, his most recent foster family was able to afford the cost, knowing that he would also need ongoing professional training. We are thrilled that Sandford has found his forever family.
