How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

DAWG utilized this grant to make adoption possible for many families who might have otherwise not been able to afford it. The reduced or waived adoption fees freed up funds for people to be able to purchase items for their new pet, or get started with a veterinarian to make sure the animals continue to receive proper care and prevention.

The grant has assisted 100 pets. We plan to continue the program into 2024.

Sweet Dawson (first photo) was abandoned at the city pound and waited for weeks in the sweltering Texas heat for rescue. DAWG stepped up and saved him on the day he was set to be euthanized.

In spite of his traumatic time at the pound, he remained sweet and loving, and we could not have been happier to find a family that adores him as much as we do! Thanks to Kia and the Petfinder Foundation, the adoption fee was waived to send Dawson to a loving home.
