Houston Humane Society: Disaster Response and Recovery Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This $2,500 grant helped to provide free rabies, DHPPv, and HCP vaccines for owned, lost, or displaced pets. HHS also assisted with the long-term recovery of flooded communities by providing medical care, mobile veterinary clinics in highly impacted areas, pet food and supply distribution, and monitoring and responding to ongoing environmental and health hazards affecting animals. In total, we were able to provide resources to more than 500 pets in the area.

Post heavy storms, 1-year-old orange tabby Mo-Money was left deserted outside our shelter. About three weeks later, Mo-Money was adopted by one of our Wildlife staff members.
