How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Our dogs love the KONGs here at the Guadalupe County Humane Society. We let them use them as toys and for treats. Placing the treats into the KONG stimulates the dogs' brains and keeps them from boredom. The specific surfaces also let the dogs safely chew the KONGs without tearing them apart.

After we posted adorable pictures of our little dog Benji with his KONG, he got adopted almost immediately. A sweet couple found his pictures online through Facebook and Petfinder and were able to adopt him within the next few days. Now he is in a nice home with his little KONG that became his favorite toy to play with.
