Chatham Kent Animal Rescue: Purina Canada Happy Paws & Hearts Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We are so very grateful for this grant. We were able to spay/neuter and vaccinate our kittens that had just come of age. These babies had been found without a mom at a couple weeks old and have been taken care of in foster a home.

Simon was one of that we recently neutered and vaccinated and he, along with his three siblings, were found abandoned. They are now available on our Petfinder page to find homes.

We also were able to neuter and vaccinate the two Maltipoo puppies who had been owner-surrendered. Max and Miket are the puppies and because of this grant they are completely vetted and are being adopted by their foster family.

We also were able to purchase microchips. Each animal that comes into our care will receive one.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Max and Miket were owner-surrenders coming from an unstable environment. Both puppies had no vetting and were not socialized. They were placed in foster care and have flourished.

This grant enabled us to have both boys neutered and vaccinated. Now the wonderful news is that their foster family just can’t let them go and has put in the application to adopt both.

We are overjoyed when foster families fall in love and become what we call foster fails. Thank you so much for helping us on our mission.
