Devoted to Pets Rescue: Emergency Medical Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant enabled us to provide a partial-mouth tooth extraction for a cat who has been in our care since she was a kitten. Repeated attempts to manage her gingivostomatitis with medications failed as soon as the medications were discontinued.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Pepper is now a 13-month-old cat. Previously, she was treated with steroids and antibiotics for gingivostomatitis, which only helped while she remained on the medications.

With the help of this grant, Pepper had her cheek teeth extracted. There was no sign of inflammation at her recent three-month checkup, and the PCR test for calicivirus was negative.

She is pain-free and has gained weight. She can now be around other cats in her foster home as long as she is stress-free, and can be adopted as an only cat or to an otherwise stress-free home.

You can meet Pepper here.
