How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The grant has given many of the pets in our care some sense of home. The beds provide comfort and warmth for the pets in our care (some even share their beds). They have helped some of the dogs (and cats) feel more relaxed during their stay here.

Allie, who is pictured in the photo, came in as an owner-surrender. She was shy and nervous and did not eat for a period once she got here. She eventually got adopted but was returned after a week.

She got her bed and is much more secure and relaxed since it no longer feels like a “shelter” but now like just a slightly different home. Her bed makes her happy, safe, and loved. In a shelter, that feeling goes a long way – especially for animals who know what having a home is all about.
