Universal City Animal Care & Control: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We would like to give a big thank you to the Petfinder Foundation for awarding us the 2022 Kia Pet Adoption Grant in the amount of $1,000 for our August Clear the Shelter Event.

These funds helped our shelter lower our adoption fee to $25. During this event, we adopted 11 dogs and 13 cats. We are so appreciative for the grant funds and for all the wonderful adopters who provided new, loving homes to our shelter pets. Thank you again!

Charlie was a 5-year-old male heeler whose owner passed away. He was surrendered to our shelter in the hope he would find a new, loving home. Charlie was heartworm-positive and we were able to get him the heartworm treatment he needed.

He was placed up for adoption and, during our Clear the Shelter event, Charlie was adopted to a wonderful new family that had another heeler. So now Charlie has a new forever home and a new buddy as well.
