Humane Society of Warren Coutny: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The awarded Kia Pet Adoption Grant covered the cost of reduced-fee adoptions. On July 27, 2024, the Humane Society of Warren County hosted its first ever "Furrever Summer" Block Party Event, which resulted in 12 adoptions! One of our event sponsors also sponsored two of the pet adoptions for the event, so we were able to extend the reduced fees through July 31 with the Kia Pet Adoption Grant Award. From July 28-31, an additional seven pets found homes. In total, this grant award helped 10 pets, including two long-term residents, find their happily ever afters.

Butter Bean came to us, along with five other dogs, from a seizure case by our local animal control deputies. She did well in playgroup with other dogs, but had lived outdoors prior to coming into our care. Because of this, she had a harder time learning about appropriate places to potty.
Miss Butter Bean was the last of this group to be adopted. She was with us for six months and was finally adopted at the “Furrever Summer” event.
We have received a couple of updates on her, and she is doing very well in her new home (second photo). With patience, love and a consistent schedule, she quickly picked up on her new routine and is blossoming. The family reports that she is 100% good girl and already very loved by all who meet her.
