Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P): Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Thanks to this grant, we were able to provide Rambo's adopter with host of goodies, ranging from an orthopedic bed and joint supplements to cute accessories and special prescription food. We kept the take-aways quiet because we only wanted applicants who were genuinely interested in Rambo himself and not any "freebies." Naturally, the biggest surprise would come with the knowledge that Rambo's adoption fee and microchip registration were paid for thanks to the Petfinder Foundation!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Rambo was with us for just over 280 days! He was found running loose on a very busy street and, when his owners were located, they relinquished him on the spot.
Rambo was so thin and ate as if he had been starving his whole life. In fact, he would quickly snatch and eat just about anything, include a scrunchie which required him to undergo surgery for removal.
Despite his insatiable appetite, Rambo just didn’t seem to gain weight. However, once he was placed on ONC Care prescription food, he was slowly able to gain some healthy weight.
Rambo is a super sweet little senior. He stole the heart of his amazing new mom instantly. Sweet Rambo was also instantly accepted by his new furry sibling, Zolan, who is an A3P alumnus. They not only look similar but are also best buds.
Rambo was adopted on Aug. 30, 2024. Definitely a “happily forever after” for this once-discarded senior!
