Finally Home Animal Haven: Other Animals Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Other Animals Grant helped us provide nutritious food for Mickey, Minnie, Maya, Mirabelle, and Maybelle while searching for their forever homes. The grant gave us funds to specifically match goat and sheep dietary needs and allowed us to purchase good-quality hay. We were able to keep them happy and healthy while awaiting their new pastures.

Maya was a sheep used for breeding; however, when she gave birth to a lamb with four twisted legs, she and the baby were no longer wanted.

Bred too young at barely 1 year old, Maya arrived at our rescue terrified of humans. Over time, we were able to gain her trust, and she developed so much confidence. She allowed us to pet her and would gently take treats from our hands. She found friends in the other sheep and goats and enjoyed playing with them.

The Petfinder Foundation’s Other Animals Grant helped us to purchase the food she needed to become healthy and strong so that she could eventually find her way and trust in humans again. She has been adopted, as could the other sheep and goats who also benefited from this grant, and now they are happy and healthy roaming their own forever pastures.
