Daisy's Legacy: Dog Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The 2025 Dog Enrichment Grant from the Petfinder Foundation brought meaningful change to the daily lives of our rescue dogs. With this generous support, Daisy’s Legacy was able to purchase interactive toys, enrichment games, agility gear, and comfort items to transform our kennel space into a more engaging and stimulating environment.

These tools provided physical and mental stimulation, helped reduce kennel stress, and allowed our dogs to express natural behaviors, making them happier, healthier, and more adoptable. Most importantly, it gave each dog a chance to shine and connect more deeply with visitors and potential adopters.

One heartwarming success story is Dora (first photo), a young and curious pup with a big heart and a bright smile. Dora arrived at Daisy’s Legacy recovering from surgery and was initially shy and unsure in the kennel environment.

Thanks to the enrichment grant from the Petfinder Foundation, Dora had access to nose-work games, interactive toys, and cozy spaces that supported her recovery and helped her gain confidence. These tools gave her the opportunity to explore, play, and come out of her shell, showing her sweet and playful personality to staff and potential adopters.

The difference was remarkable, and before long, Dora found her forever home! She was adopted by a loving family who saw the joyful, resilient dog she had become. This grant played a vital role in helping Dora heal, shine, and ultimately connect with the perfect adopter.
