Oceana County Animal Friends: Cat Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were able to build a large indoor catio to provide space for our cats who are usually in kennels to stretch their legs and play. We can use the catio as a home for the cats while they are waiting for adoption. We can also use it as an exercise area. It has a real tree and many shelves to climb and jump. We are still adding more items: It will have a sisal carpet installed on the wall and many tools for the cats to enjoy.

How many pets did this grant help?

25 cats per month come into the shelter and they will have access to this catio.

We just completed the catio and haven’t had an opportunity to have many cats in it yet. It is located in our garage and it’s Jan in Michigan and we don’t have heat in the garage yet. We are getting that installed this month from another grant. We promise to share multiple posts and tag Petfinder Foundation with pictures and videos of all the cats enjoying the space.
