Rockstar Rescue: Dog Field Trip/Short-Term Fostering Grant Report

This grant provided the means to acquire collars, leads, and harnesses to safely transport and handle each dog involved in a field trip.

The field trip program has been a huge success for the dogs involved, and it has given us valuable insight as to the dogs' behaviors in a setting other than our shelter!

Waldo (first and second photos) was one of the dogs who went on a field trip. She was extremely shy and not used to human contact. She had lived on a junkyard property for several years.

This field trip helped us see that outside of the shelter, she is a bit more comfortable; she warmed up to her sleepover partner. She enjoyed walks and hikes and did quite well — better than expected!

She has since been adopted!
