Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Raya, a resilient mama cat, was rescued by a kind-hearted good Samaritan along with two of her babies (first photo). Her third little one was found and brought to safety the very next day, completing their tiny family.

Raya has been an incredible mother — nurturing, protective, and full of love. Now, her kittens are almost ready to venture out on their own, and soon they’ll be looking for loving homes of their own.

Sadly, Raya’s journey doesn’t end here. Once her kittens are weaned, she’ll need to move to a foster home to prepare for what may be another litter. Her story is a powerful reminder of the importance of spaying and neutering to break the cycle of overpopulation.

Zorro (photos 2 and 3) was an owner-surrender after his previous family struggled to address his inappropriate urination and defecation issues. Unable to provide the care and attention Zorro needed, his owners made the difficult decision to give him up. With a visit to the vet, dietary adjustments, and changes to his litter, Zorro quickly adapted to his new routine and began thriving.

Thanks to his new family’s patience and care, Zorro is now in a loving home where he is flourishing — proving that with the right support, even the most challenging behavior can be overcome.

Mouse’s (photos 4 and 5) story began with an unfortunate and distressing discovery. She was found abandoned in a taped-up box, left 20 minutes up a hiking trail. Thankfully, she was rescued and immediately received the medical attention she needed.

After a thorough veterinary exam and her spay, Mouse was placed on the adoption list. It took only 10 days before her perfect family found her and she was welcomed into a loving home where she will remain forever.

Mouse’s journey is a testament to the power of rescue and the life-changing difference compassionate care can make.
