Alfie's Kitten Rescue: Cat Enrichment Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant helped our cats tremendously by providing for their comfort and enjoyment. Many of our cats, some who have now found new homes, have benefitted from the help of the Petfinder Foundation. Cozy places to rest in and cat towers to perch upon are always preferred places for cats and they will always appreciate them, as both improve their quality of living.
When cats are in a shelter and not a home with a family who can devote 100% of their attention to them, we think it is important to try to set them up with an environment they at least feel comfortable in. We try to give all our cats adequate attention, but realistically it is not possible every day. We appreciate the Petfinder Foundation for providing us with more materials to help improve our cats' quality of life while they are with us, awaiting their forever homes.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
One of the cats helped by this grant is Perry. He has since found a new home for himself and is probably enjoying every moment of his new life.
Perry was about 1.5 years old, with a super-friendly personality and a need for affection from humans. He would purr like the Ferrari of cats when on your lap and would never want to leave. Perry also understood boundaries and was not one to ever have his claws out around people; if he needed to convey a message, he would lightly tap the individual petting him.
We believe that for a cat like Perry, who absolutely loved being around people, a more comforting and fun environment was imperative to help him maintain his lower levels of stress. Perry was a happy beneficiary of the Cat Enrichment Grant and he is now being spoiled by a new family.
