How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

In 2025, our 501(c)(3) animal rescue was honored to receive the Kia Pet Adoption Grant from the Petfinder Foundation. This generous funding enabled us to significantly reduce adoption fees for 20 animals, facilitating their transitions into loving homes.

The grant allowed us to waive or lower adoption fees, making it more affordable for families to adopt pets, particularly those with special needs or longer stays. This initiative not only alleviated financial barriers for adopters but also increased the visibility of our animals, leading to higher adoption rates. For instance, senior cats and dogs with medical needs found homes faster, as the reduced fees made them more accessible to potential adopters.

Thanks to the Kia Pet Adoption Grant, we were able to place 20 animals into permanent homes, ensuring they received the care and attention they deserve. This partnership exemplifies the positive impact of community support and corporate philanthropy on animal welfare.

The Kia Pet Adoption Grant played a vital role in helping sweet puppy Eileen find her forever home. Eileen was found on the side of the road with her littermates by a Good Samaritan, but unlike her siblings, she had been hit by a car. Her injuries were severe, and her chances of survival were uncertain. Fortunately, Concerned Citizens Animal Rescue acted quickly to get her immediate veterinary care.

While one veterinarian recommended amputation, another offered a chance to save her leg with surgery, which involved placing a plate and casting it for recovery. Thanks to the support of the Kia Pet Adoption Grant, we were able to pursue this treatment option.

Eileen made an incredible recovery and was eventually adopted by her loving foster family. The grant helped cover part of her medical expenses and allowed us to reduce her adoption fee, making her adoption possible. Eileen’s story is a testament to resilience, compassion, and the life-saving impact of support from programs like the Kia Pet Adoption Grant.
