How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

With the reduced adoption rates over the past year, our foster population's age has increased, which leads to different enrichment needs. The Petfinder Foundation Cat Enrichment Grant allowed us to purchase additional scratchers, hammocks, and beds, which encourage the older cats to engage with adopters and provide more lateral spaces for relaxation.

Minerva (first photo) was a foster we took in last year in April. She was not the most outgoing kitten, and when potential adopters came to visit, she would move into locations that were not displaying her positive characteristics.

We were able to purchase some cat caves with the Petfinder Foundation Cat Enrichment Grant, which provided her safety and encouraged her to be present when adopters were at the house.

She was recently adopted to a wonderful family and she went to her new home with her cave.
