How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant provided us with warm and soft beds to comfort the many cats in our care. We are a smaller rescue, but we use a lot of bedding! This grant allows us to keep every cat and kitten in our care warm, comfortable, and clean.

How many pets did this grant help?

We rescue over 200 cats per year.

The beds helped all our cats for at least a few days to weeks when they were with us. However, we have a long-term cat in care named Romeo who especially benefited.

Romeo and his sister Juliet came to us last year from a hoarding case. Romeo was found in a barn shed, in a cage with no food, water, or, of course, bedding. His cage was hidden from view, as it was behind other cages and boxes. He was one of the last caged cats found.

Romeo is FIV+ and mostly blind, so he cannot be easily placed for adoption. Still, he is living his best life now. He has his kitty condo with unlimited food and water, extra snacks, and now his comfy P.L.A.Y. bed!

He loves his bed and is very particular about how and where you place it when cleaning his condo, so he likes to supervise the process.

Juliet has since been adopted and is now living her life on the farm, where she can be free to roam and not feel scared or trapped again.
