Pets Lifeline: Dog Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Thanks to your support, our dogs now have it made in the shade!

Thanks to the generous grant we received, Pets Lifeline has successfully added a beautiful and permanent gazebo to our dog yard, bringing much-needed shade to the dogs, staff, and volunteers who use the space every day.

Our large outdoor yard is a vital part of daily life at the shelter, where dogs stretch their legs, play with one another, and build the skills they need to thrive in a forever home. But during the hot summer months, the lack of shade made it difficult — at times even unsafe — for dogs and handlers alike.

Temporary solutions like umbrellas and pop-up tents proved unreliable and even hazardous. Now, thanks to this grant, our new wooden gazebo provides durable, year-round shelter from the sun, transforming the space into a more comfortable, functional, and welcoming environment.

This simple addition has had a big impact on the well-being of our animals and the people who care for them. We’re incredibly grateful for your support in helping us make this meaningful improvement to our facility.

Pictured under the structure is Frank. He is still available for adoption and his story is included below.

Meet Frank (first photo), our resilient boy with a heart of gold.

One morning, as staff began letting the dogs out, they found him alone and scared near the front of our facility. We don’t know how he ended up there, but we do know this: Frank is a survivor.

Our team jumped into action to get him safe, and since that day, he’s won all our hearts with his strength, loyalty, and incredible resilience.

He was adopted once and loved deeply, but his fierce loyalty proved more than his family could handle. Now, Frank is back with us, still waiting for a home that understands and appreciates his protective spirit.

Frank’s not just looking for a home. He’s looking for his person.

Meet Frank here.
