How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The grant of P.L.A.Y. Chill Pads enabled our dogs to relax and "chill out" in their outdoor pens. Although we do have some Kuranda beds, we do not have enough for all the dogs. In addition, we placed the smaller Chill Pads on the beds to give additional comfort. We have a few elderly dogs who have especially appreciated the additional padding and comfort of a Chill Pad.

Ranger was a very old-soul Akita. He came to our rescue tired, achy, and lethargic. We gave him a Kuranda pet bed with a Chill Pad and right away he seemed more comfortable and relaxed.

As time went on, he became more active. Clearly he was resting and easing his tired, sore muscles. Ranger started attracting more interest as he became livelier and was eventually adopted by a human old soul who felt that connection with Ranger.

We believe the ability to give Ranger a comfortable bed was a major factor in his change in demeanor and eventual adoption. Thank you very much for helping us save lives!
