How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Thanks to KONG’s generous donation, shelter pets at Kirby Animal Services receive critical daily enrichment that directly supports their emotional wellbeing. The KONG toys are reusable, durable, and provide hours of entertainment and stress relief for our shelter animals. As a small animal shelter with a staff of only two personnel, we greatly appreciate how much fun, enrichment, and happiness these toys bring our animals.

Callie is our beautiful 2-year-old Catahoula mix. She was seen running the streets of Kirby, dragging a short leash.

After her rescue, Callie displayed stress from the shelter atmosphere. Thanks to the generous donation from KONG, we were able to provide her a toy stuffed with a tasty treat which drastically decreased her stress.

KONG toys allow us to provide positive enrichment for all our animals and have made adjusting to the shelter setting an easier transition for them.
