Denkai Animal Sanctuary: Other Animals Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Other Animals grant from the Petfinder Foundation allowed us to provide veterinary care in the form of vaccinations, health certificates, dental care, and worming alongside farrier care for nine horses, one mule, and three potbellied pigs in our care.
This preparation has provided needed care prior to adoption and has made every bit of difference in the lives of these wonderful animals.

Gandalf is a 12-year-old gelding who was abandoned near our property by his previous owner alongside Paige, a quarter-horse mare, who was also taken in by our sanctuary.
Gandalf was extremely thin, we had no vaccination history on him, and his teeth were not allowing him to properly grind his hay. He was wadding it and it was falling out of his mouth, so he was unable to get any needed nutrition.
This grant brought needed care to him: We had a dental done, vaccinated and de-wormed him, and had farrier care done for this amazing gelding. He has been adopted since his intake with us and is a very well-trained gelding. Your foundation made this possible and we are so very grateful.
