RezDawg Rescue: Dog Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We have purchased a Gyms for Dogs ramp for outdoor play for our pups. A back-order of the playground equipment as well as a parvo outbreak that required a significant sterilization of our whole facility created delays in getting the equipment and putting it up. It is now installed and ready for our next clinic, which is planned for later this summer.

We have observed that RezDawg Rescue dogs who have an enriching environment are happier, more social, and in better physical health, and thus are more likely to be adopted. With this Petfinder Foundation support, along with our ongoing fundraising for additional shade and fencing improvements, we will increase our ability to create the best environment for our to-be-fostered and adoptable dogs.

How many pets did this grant help?

For the remainder of the calendar year, we anticipate approximately 225 dogs will benefit from this.

We’re including a photo of Dahlia (first photo), a former rescued dog, who came to us needing urgent surgery for her leg. She is a healthy, healed, and happy dog and, in the photo, is modeling playing on the new equipment, which will soon be shared with other RDR dogs.
