Loudon County Friends of Animals: Cat Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

LCFOA used our Petfinder Foundation grant monies to buy cardboard cat scratchers that have made the lives of our cats at our Petsense Lenoir City adoption center so much better. The cats not only love to scratch on them, but they love lying and sitting on their scratchers. It truly enhances their happiness, and a happy cat is easier to adopt. The scratchers keep the cats in our main condo compartment up front, meeting folks, instead of hiding behind their litter boxes.

These scratchers have a huge impact on our cats' mental and physical health. By expressing the natural cat behavior of scratching, the cats are able to reduce stress while they wait for their forever homes. We are the no. 1 adoption group for Petsense nationally (all stores) and we are proud to save all these senior, disabled, and adult cats. All cats pictured have been adopted.
