The Emergency Medical Grant went toward the cost of Rosie's eye surgery bill, as it was not something the rescue had been expecting when Rosie was pulled from the shelter! This grant really helped take some of the monetary burden off our small rescue.

Rosie was a dog rescued from [an open-admission] shelter in California. After she saw a vet, it was determined that the pressure in Rosie’s eyes required them to both be removed.

This was a multiple-thousand-dollar surgery so Rosie wouldn’t experience any more pain from the pressure behind her eyes. Her eyes were removed successfully and ultimately Rosie was able to be adopted! She is a happy and healthy 5-year-old dog now thriving in her forever home!
