Purrfect Peaches Cat Rescue: KONG Toys Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant gave a new cat enrichment toy to our newly adopted cats and kittens. When I reached out to the adopters to receive feedback, it appears that there is a tie between the bubblegum-machine balls and the cat-size purple Kong.

Kong toys were also given to our shelter rescue cats. The small balls and Kongs provided the kittens with so much fun in their cages. The older cats enjoyed the kicker toys. In our free-roam rooms, the cats loved all of the toys.

In our isolation/sick room, we are using the purple Kong toys, which are washed to help prevent the spread of germs. The cats in that room like the bubblegum balls, and those are washed as well.

Thank you for donating the toys. It is always fun to watch the cats get excited and play. It is also good that the toys can be washed and reused.

A purple Kong was picked out by an adopter for her new cat, Tiny. In the picture, you can see how much Tiny loves playing with it, almost like it is her personal treasure. Her adopter says Tiny chases it all over the living room and makes a whole game out of it.

Tiny is a wobbly cat, and when she first came to the rescue, she was much smaller than her siblings, which is how she got her name. Even with her wobble and her size, she has all the spirit she needs, and the purple Kong has become one of her favorite things.
