PAWS Atlanta: Wag Wine Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Wag Wine Grant directly strengthened PAWS Atlanta’s ability to meet the daily needs of the dogs and cats in our no‑kill shelter. With these funds, we were able to purchase essential items such as nutritious food, vaccines, preventatives, cleaning supplies, enrichment toys, bedding, and feeding equipment.

These resources ensured our animals remained healthy, comfortable, and mentally stimulated during their time with us, which is especially important for pets who stay in our care longer before adoption. Overall, this grant helped us maintain consistent, high‑quality care and improve each animal’s well‑being and adoptability.

How many pets did this grant help?

This grant helped us serve the 1,094 animals we sheltered in 2025.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Chud, a gentle 5‑year‑old Great Pyrenees, came to PAWS Atlanta under heartbreaking circumstances. His owner, facing deportation, made the difficult decision to surrender him to ensure he would remain safe and cared for.

Despite his size and sweet temperament, Chud spent five months in the shelter, slowly adjusting to a new environment and winning over staff and volunteers with his calm, loyal nature.

After months of waiting, Chud finally met the person who would become his forever family. His new adopter immediately saw the kindness and resilience behind his shy demeanor and knew he belonged with them.

Today, Chud is thriving in his new home: safe, loved, and settling into the stability he deserves. His adoption is a powerful reminder of why PAWS Atlanta’s commitment to long‑term, no‑kill care matters for pets who need extra time to find their perfect match.
