Partners for Pets Humane Society: REDI Implementation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Partners for Pets utilized the grant funding to provide free and low-cost veterinary services to members our our underserved communities. Vaccination and wellness clinics were held biweekly to accommodate the schedules of the individuals we aimed to support through this programming.
Our team was able to gather data through questionnaires in late 2022 and early 2023 which indicated a need for these services, so we were ecstatic to receive the support to put action behind our mission of preventing unnecessary surrendering of community pets in an already overwhelmed shelter system.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
In November, Partners for Pets hosted a wellness clinic at our facility in Saint Jacob, IL. Community member Miranda scheduled an appointment for not only her pet, but neighboring animals who she knew desperately needed veterinary attention.
Upon arrival, Miranda notified our team that, while the animals needed care, she only had the funds to have one pet seen. With tears in her eyes, she asked which pet we felt needed care the most. Our team was overwhelmed with joy to explain to Miranda that, thanks to the support of the Petfinder Foundation, Partners for Pets was not only able to provide care to all of these animals, but it was completely free of charge.
Having the REDI funding provided by the Petfinder Foundation not only changed the outcome of this interaction, it allowed Partners for Pets to build a lasting relationship with community members, a relationship built on trust and support for the human-animal bond.
