How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were able to purchase items at both of our locations that can be difficult to prioritize with a low budget. The public can be critical if we spend our limited resources on things that appear "fun" or that seem to "spoil the dogs," so it's always nice to be able to receive a grant to fund these items directly and not have to justify it.

Tyga had been in the shelter for almost six months, so he was one of the first dogs that we let enjoy some of the new toys. He absolutely loved the little carrot patch toy we bought, and happily wagged his tail as he gently removed carrots to find the treats.

We know that activities like this are incredibly calming for dogs, and maybe that set him up for success because just four days later, he found his new home!!
