How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant helped us make vast improvements in the yard for our dogs and our volunteers. Putting turf down across the entirety of the yard is better on the dogs' paws, and makes it easier for the staff to keep up with the husbandry. The lights help with maintaining a clean and safe environment.

How many pets did this grant help?

We estimate that about 125 dogs move through the cafe throughout the year, some residing just a few days and others over a year.

An example of a long-time resident is Tripp Von Lowryder (first photo). He has been at the Cafe for over a year. He has seen the yard be upgraded, totally redone, and improved. He has seen expansion and rearrangement of kennels and runs, and has supervised our renovation of a living room area for the pups to hang out in! Tripp is still available for adoption.
