City of Winnipeg Animal Services: Purina Canada Happy Paws & Hearts Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant helped with the spay/neuter of homeless dogs at our facility. These dogs were placed for adoption into our community. Almost every dog that enters Animal Services is not spayed/neutered or licensed. Having this funding was great as it helped get these dogs fixed, which will help prevent litters of unwanted dogs in the future. Spay/neuter also helps reduce cancer risk, aggression, the urge to roam, and the cost of a pet license. Thank you to the teams at Purina and the Petfinder Foundation for making this grant possible!

How many pets did this grant help?

Approximately 15

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
