Seven, an approximately 8-month-old border collie cross, was seen being thrown or jumping from a moving truck outside of Steinbach, Manitoba. A passerby who witnessed the incident stopped and picked up Seven. He had obvious trauma to his right rear leg.
Seven was brought to Steinbach to a local veterinary clinic, which then contacted Steinbach and Area Animal Rescue. Seven was assessed and it was determined that he had a badly broken rear right leg which would require surgery.
This grant was allocated in full to the cost of Seven’s surgery, which was a success. Seven was in our care while recovering from the injury and was ultimately adopted in November 2024.
He is active, playful and enjoying life with his new forever home. This grant helped immensely in covering a portion of his surgery costs, allowing the rescue to continue to help other animals that come into our care.
