For the Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Kia Pet Adoption Grant provided money to help us offset adoption fees for 10 cats that had been with LOCRA longer than average. We highlighted these cats on social media and found that being able to advertise their lower adoption fees drew more interest from adopters than they'd had in the past.

Hailee came to LOCRA after her owner passed away. She can be a little shy at first, and we thought she’d do best in a calm home as an only pet. She’s also 8 years old, making her older than some adopters might prefer.

Luckily, our description of her sweet and curious temperament resonated with her adoptive mom, who reports that Hailee is now thriving in her new home. She quickly started exploring her new owner’s apartment and has been approaching them for attention and pets. Hailee is still getting used to her new surroundings, but her adoptive mom tells us that she’s settling in very well and is a great addition to the household.

We’re so glad that Hailee found her forever home, and we’re grateful to the Petfinder Foundation and the Kia Pet Adoption Grant for the role they played in this success story.
