So far we have been able to adopt two dogs with this grant giving us the opportunity to reduce adoption fees. One of those had been with us since he was 4 months old and had just turned 2 years old.

Peter Rabbit was saved from the local animal control euthanasia list at just 4 months old. He spent time at the rescue and eight weeks at the Missouri Puppies for Parole Program, and when he came back from there he went into foster with a wonderful group of people in a sober-living house. He not only helped them with their recovery, but they helped him heal from being unwanted and unloved at such a young age.

Recently, Peter Rabbit was adopted thanks to the grant allowing us to reduce our adoption fees in this tough economy. He now has a new home, a new family, and a new fur sister — or, as we call her, his twin!

We have adopted two dogs with this grant’s help and are continuously reminding the public we have wonderful dogs with reduced fees just waiting for them to adopt!
